The Free Press student newspaper is 32 pages of full-color print coverage distributed 4 times a year to all 1,800+ students and 200 FSHS staff members during first hour.

About Free Press

Located at Lawrence Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas, The Free Press is staffed by approximately 60 devoted students and advised by FSHS journalism teacher Jared Shuff.

The publication is updated frequently with published content including stories, videos, recordings, photo galleries and infographics. In addition, select stories are published in The Free Press print issue each month.

The publication is run by online editors-in-chief Ember Klein and Simon Williams and online managing editor Baila Love.

Curious Free State journalists will amplify voices, gather superior sources and tell pivotal stories of our community in a visually creative way in order to serve our audience and foster quality scholastic journalism in Lawrence, Kansas.
