Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: (Committee names are LIVE sign-up links)

Uniform Committee: The uniform committee works together to measure all marching band students, assign appropriate uniforms and fit them to students during band camp. Helmets,  gloves and garment bags are also assigned and fitted. Shoes are also fitted for those that need them. They will help on performance days making sure pants are steamed, buttons are secure, and shoes and helmets look good. At the end of marching season, uniforms will be collected, inventoried, sent to the dry cleaners, looked over and checked for damage to prepare for the next season.

Water Committee: The water committee works together to make sure our marching students are well hydrated - dinner before games, football half times, parades, and festivals. On performance days, two setup volunteers load the bottles of water into the coolers. One cooler will be used for the meal (can get ice from the training room). The Field crew will then take all 3 coolers to the field and put ice in them from the training room at the field. 2 volunteers will hand out water after pregame and again after halftime. After the 3rd quarter, water is drained from the coolers. Field crew will return them to the school after the game, where they are left open to dry.

Feed the Band: The food committee plans and organizes feeding the band prior to all football games. This will include recruiting monetary donations for pizza, fruit and vegetable trays and desserts. One volunteer will work with Mr. Bradshaw to order pizza (he will pay with donations), pick up and deliver to the school by 5 p.m. on game days. 4 volunteers will set up tables in the commons with plates, napkins, and organize food. They will then clean up after everyone is served. All supplies can be stored in the band closet.

Field Crew Committee: This committee is involved in making sure drum major ladders and front ensemble equipment gets to the field, are placed on the field before performances, and put away. They will also help with transporting water coolers to and from the field. This crew is also an important part of our festival performances, loading and unloading the truck, and getting equipment and instruments to the field.

Festival Committee: This committee is involved in all aspects of making festival days run smoothly. It typically involves people overseeing uniforms, water, feeding the band, and field crew. SignUp Link to come.
