Who is in charge of transcripts?

The high school registrar is Teresa Arevalo.  She can be reached by calling 785.330.1445.  Mrs. Arevalo is responsible for keeping academic records and the mailing of transcripts. To request a transcript be sent, fill out a transcript release form and have it signed by your parent/guardian.  If you are 18 years old only you need to sign it.  NO TRANSCRIPT CAN BE SENT UNLESS THIS RELEASE IS SIGNED.  Transcript Release Forms (index size green card) can be obtained from the Student Services Office, Room 103.   Previous graduates may call Mrs. Arevalo at the above telephone number or email a request to tarevalo@usd497.org.    Please provide Mrs. Arevalo with the date of your graduation from LFSHS and the name and city of the school where you would like your transcript sent.

What do I do if I'm a new student?

New students enrolling at Lawrence Free State High School should contact Mrs. Arevalo, Registrar at 785.330.1445.   She will assist you with the enrollment process and schedule an appointment for you to meet with a counselor.  The enrollment sessions usually take about thirty to sixty minutes.  The following documents must be presented beforehand:

Transfer grades  An unofficial copy of the transcript from the previous school, along with the correct name, address and phone number.
Checkout grades if enrolling during the school year.
Immunization records These records are required before students may attend classes.  The school nurse is Mrs. Paula Hatcher.
Sports eligibility information (if applicable).
Special testing information and/or psychological background (if applicable) such as a 504 Plan or an IEP (Individualized Educational Program).
Proof of idenity in the form of a birth certificate or passport.

Career Cruising

Career Cruising Log-in and password information is available in the Student Services Office for Lawrence Free State High School Students.

Career Cruising has been developed with one goal in mind: making a comprehensive career guide that people will truly enjoy using.

While in school, we noticed a common problem among our peers—few of us knew what to do with our lives after graduation. Our understanding of our career options was very limited, and was often based more on inaccurate stereotypes than the reality of the working world.

To address these problems, we set out to create a career guidance resource that would have appealed to us when we were in school. Our aim with the initial version of Career Cruising was to develop a user-friendly program that combined comprehensive career information with the personal perspective provided by multimedia interviews with people in every occupation.
